RJ Volunteer Peers
Someone to Listen
This is a volunteer peer support services for people that are struggling with life stresses, for people thinking about suicide, for people that are concerned about someone that is thinking about suicide, or for someone that has lost someone to suicide. This service is obtained through a referral process, by calling, emailing or texting, etc.
SPT has trained volunteer peers that want to help through conversations, connections and use of their own life experiences as it relates to suicide, suicide loss, rough times, or just the everyday stresses.
Each peer has undergone more then 26 hours of suicide prevention training consisting of, ASIST, MHFA & QPR.
None of the Peers are clinicians
Peers are encouraged to help others through connections and listening.
Fishing, Hiking, Coffee, Coloring, Talking, Listening- are just a few things these peers provide.
Each volunteer shall pass a background check
